A Thrilling Visual Novel Adventure
Lockdown 2024 is a point-and-click adventure game with a linear storyline. It is about a young man (18) who’s lived a very sheltered life. His father and stepmother allowed no extracurricular activity, no internet, and no fraternizing with the opposite sex. A new strain of COVID-19 is discovered and the government has instituted a new lockdown. Our hero’s father passed away during the first pandemic and now he’s the only man in a house full of women. He will need to attend university (college) online, help the women around the house, and discover some secrets about his and his family’s past.

Devon, head of the household
Devon married Tommy’s father in the late 2010s, stepping into the role of stepmother to an awkward, introverted teenage boy. She never tried to replace his mother, but she did expect discipline, structure, and personal growth—things Tommy resisted at every turn.
When her husband passed away in 2020, Devon had no choice but to take full control of the household. Grief was a luxury she couldn’t afford. She channeled her emotions into running the home with precision, ensuring bills were paid, meals were cooked, and structure was maintained. Tommy, however, was a different challenge. His withdrawal frustrated her, his lack of motivation irritated her, and despite being a therapist specializing in human intimacy, she struggled to connect with him.
As a licensed therapist specializing in sexual behavior, Devon understands people’s deepest desires and fears better than they understand themselves. She’s spent years helping others unlock their potential, break harmful cycles, and embrace confidence—yet when it comes to her own family, she finds herself hitting walls.
Now, with the lockdown forcing them into close quarters, Devon sees an opportunity—perhaps even a responsibility—to finally push Tommy out of his comfort zone and shape him into the man she believes he could be. But will he resent her interference, or will this be the moment they finally understand each other?

Amber, the older step-sister
Amber has always been the fire to Tommy’s ice—where he is withdrawn and awkward, she is loud and unfiltered. Growing up under Devon’s strict but supportive guidance, Amber was raised to be assertive, confident, and unafraid of confrontation. She had no patience for shy, awkward types, and Tommy’s quiet, socially stunted nature irritated her to no end.
The two never saw eye to eye. She constantly teased him, calling him a “perv” whenever she caught him sneaking glances at her or her friends—whether intentional or not. To Amber, Tommy was just the weird, shut-in gamer who didn’t belong in the real world.
But Amber isn’t without her own struggles. She resents Devon’s control and the pressure of growing up under the microscope of a therapist mother. She’s spent the last few years rebelling in every way possible—partying hard, drinking, and hooking up just to prove she’s in charge of her own life.
Now, the lockdown has forced her back into the house she swore she’d escape. Trapped with Tommy, their rivalry threatens to boil over. But something’s different this time—Tommy isn’t the same weak kid she used to push around. As tensions rise, so does a strange new energy between them.
Will their long-standing animosity explode into something more? Or will the lockdown finally break the fragile peace between them?

Emma – The Sweet but Sheltered Scholar
Devon married Tommy’s father in the late 2010s, stepping into the role of stepmother to an awkward, introverted teenage boy. She never tried to replace his mother, but she did expect discipline, structure, and personal growth—things Tommy resisted at every turn.

Jasmine – The Charismatic Heartbreaker
Jasmine is the life of the party, the girl who can walk into any room and immediately have everyone’s attention. She met Amber in college, and despite their differences, the two became fast friends—bonded over wild nights, spontaneous trips, and a shared love of pushing limits.
When the new pandemic hit, Jasmine had planned to crash at Amber’s place for just a couple of nights—but lockdown orders suddenly turned that into an indefinite stay. Now, she’s stuck under Devon’s strict household rules, but instead of feeling trapped, she sees it as an opportunity for fun.
From the moment she meets Tommy, she notices his awkwardness—and decides to make him her personal project. She flirts, teases, and tests his limits, watching with amusement as he fumbles through their interactions. But what starts as a playful distraction turns into something far more entertaining and unexpected—Tommy starts responding.
Much to Amber’s absolute fury, Tommy isn’t just shutting down under Jasmine’s attention—he’s reacting, changing, even pushing back.
Jasmine adores the chaos, but deep down, she’s also intrigued. What else is hiding beneath Tommy’s awkward exterior? And is she just toying with him, or could this lockdown ignite something real?

Naomi – The Quiet Gamer with a Hidden Fire
Naomi came to the U.S. from Japan to attend the local college, an exciting yet daunting step toward independence. She had planned to stay with Devon’s family for a few weeks before school started, getting adjusted to life in America before moving into the dorms. Then, the lockdown hit. Now, instead of a short visit, she’s unexpectedly stuck in a household full of strong personalities, awkward tensions, and simmering conflicts—none of which she was prepared for.
Unlike Amber and Jasmine, Naomi doesn’t thrive on chaos—she prefers peace, quiet, and the familiar comfort of a game controller in her hands. She was relieved when she realized Tommy was also a gamer, seeing him as someone she could actually relate to in a house full of extroverts. But while they share an interest, she quickly realizes she’s far better at games than he is, much to his frustration.
Despite her shy and soft-spoken nature, Naomi isn’t weak—she’s a fierce competitor in the gaming world, used to dominating lobbies full of guys who underestimate her. As she and Tommy start gaming together, a natural chemistry forms—one that confuses him as much as it intrigues her.
However, her biggest challenge isn’t the games—it’s navigating the social dynamics of the house. She’s never been around this many strong personalities before, and she often finds herself caught between Amber’s attitude, Jasmine’s playful teasing, and Devon’s commanding presence. Will she stay in the background, or will the lockdown push her to step outside her comfort zone—both in life and in love?

Maria – Unexpected Mentor
Maria was born and raised in Mexico, where she developed a deep love for family, tradition, and the simple joys of life. She married young, raised Devon with firm but loving hands, and eventually moved to the U.S. to be closer to her daughter and grandkids. However, while she respects Devon’s success, she never quite agreed with her strict, structured approach to life.
She believes that rules are important, but warmth and laughter matter more. This has led to clashes with Devon over the years—especially when it comes to Amber and Emma—but Maria has never been one to back down from a fight when she knows she’s right.
Despite not being related by blood, she treats Tommy like one of her own grandkids. She saw how much he struggled growing up, how Devon’s tough love approach failed to reach him, and how he slowly faded into his own world of video games and solitude. She always tried to reach out, to encourage him in small ways, but he rarely responded.
Now that they’re all stuck together under lockdown, Maria sees an opportunity—a chance to finally bring Tommy out of his shell. While Devon wants to push him with discipline, Maria takes a different approach:

Isabella – The Soft-Spoken Outsider
Isabella grew up in Puerto Rico, raised in a humble but hardworking family. Life was never easy, and she learned from a young age that to survive, she needed to work hard, stay quiet, and avoid trouble. When an opportunity arose to work in the U.S., she took it—not because she wanted to, but because she had to.
Devon hired Isabella at the start of the story to help manage the house, but on the very day she arrives, the world shuts down. Instead of just a housekeeping job, she suddenly finds herself locked inside with a family she barely knows, trapped in a whirlwind of tensions, shifting relationships, and unspoken emotions.
Her biggest struggle? Communication. She speaks very little English, making it difficult for her to express herself, leading to frustrations and misunderstandings with the others. She often feels like an outsider, unsure where she fits into this strange, chaotic household.
Tommy, however, surprises her. Unlike the others, he doesn’t push her or expect too much from her. In his own way, he understands what it’s like to struggle to connect with people. Through small, awkward attempts, they slowly begin to communicate—first through gestures, then simple words, then shared moments.
Isabella isn’t used to being noticed. She isn’t used to being spoken to like an equal. And for the first time in a long time, she starts to wonder… does she belong here more than she thought?
Challenges (mini-games)
There are several mini-games to solve throughout the game. However, you're not forced to solve them if that's not your thing. During the start of the game, you can choose from 3 difficulties.
Hardcore - Disables skipping entirely, you'll need to play all the mini-games to continue the game
Normal - Gives you the option to play or skip the mini-games
Easy - Skips over all mini-games

Basketball
This is a simple game of free throws against Jasmin. It gets interesting when she suggest spicing it up. The mechanics are easy, there are two indicators Target and Power. Click the mouse to stop them when they enter the green area and you score a basket. Points are only scored when you make a basket and Jasmin misses. First to 5 points wins.
Lock picking
The lockpicking mini-game requires you to set 5 tumblers to the correct position while maintaining tension on the lock. You use the mouse and keyboard to raise/lower the rake while using the left/right keys to keep the tension meter green. If tension drops too low or gets too high you need to start over. Later in the game, a timer is added to make it more challenging. Turn all pins blue and gain access what's behind.
Pipes
In several parts of the game, you'll need to play the part of handyman. The women will rely on you to fix a bunch of stuff around the house. In this mini-game, you need to connect all the pipes with stars, by clicking on the pipes to rotate them.
Hacking
In parts of the game, you'll need to hack computer devices. You'll do this in the hacking mini-game. This game works like mastermind. You guess a combination of symbols and the app tells you how many symbols you have correct. Green represents symbols you've guessed in the correct spot, yellow indicates the correct symbols in the wrong spot. Use logic to figure out the correct code.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I can't figure out where anything is. How do I navigate around the house?
A: A lot of areas in the game have multiple views. Think of a 3D space where you can turn left and right. You can find hotspots on the left, right, and bottom of the screen in these areas. In most cases, you can use the A/S/D keys as shortcuts. An example is the first-floor hallway. When you first enter this area, you are presented with a view of the hallway, which leads to the second floor. If you turn left, you'll see 2 doors, one leading to the garage and the other to the basement. If you turn left again, you'll see the front door, which leads to the front porch. One more left to find the door to the laundry room.
In addition, you may quickly travel to any location once you've visited it using the map app. You can find it on your phone or use the #3 on your keyboard.
Q: I can't figure out what to do next. Where can I get help?
A: In the tasks screen, you can find your To-do list. On the left of the screen is a list of tasks. When you click on one, you are presented with a brief description of that task. If you need more help, click the "?" to bring up a detailed description of how to solve that task.
